They are urging those with respiratory conditions to be vigilant
Over 5,000 children in the Midlands could be at risk of a serious asthma attack this month.
The Asthma society of Ireland is warning that September is the most dangerous time in the year for Asthma sufferers - especially children.
Almost 1500 kids have respiratory issues in Westmeath, just over 2000 in Offaly and more than 1400 at risk in Laois.
They say that not washing hands correctly and not having your inhaler to hand are the biggest causes of the most serious attacks.
