The Mayor of Athlone says work to prepare for the Living City scheme is progressing smoothly.
Tanaiste Simon Harris is confirming Athlone's addition to the programme for June 2026 after October's Budget.
He's asking local authorities, including Westmeath County Council, to return draft maps that show suitable vacant buildings for the plan, by the end of January.
