The withdrawal of a number of public transport options from a Westmeath town is leading to more people creating emissions.
That's the claim from Green Party Councillor Louise Heavin, who says Athlone needs more bus services.
The town suffered the loss of Bus Éireann's route to Dublin a number of years ago, while Air Coach also ceased their operations to the capital more recently.
