Biggest Challenges Facing Irish Teachers Raised At European Level

Over 20 teachers were invited by MEPs.

Finding accommodation is among the biggest issues facing teachers in Ireland, a meeting with the EU Parliament in Brussels has heard.

Over 20 Irish primary school teachers were invited by MEPs to discuss the difficulties with teaching here, which also included issues with education and the environment.

They've been there for two days already, and will finish up in Brussels later today.

Member of the Irish National Teachers Organisation and Assistant Principal in An Grianán National School in Moate, Dolores Killian, was among those invited.

She says the visit has given her a better understanding of the EU:
