Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel says a much cold trend is taking over, after an unseasonably mild and settled winter.
The Offaly forecaster says this weekend will be particulary cold - but temperatures shouldn't drop too far below freezing and it will stay dry over the midlands and south.
