Bogs Could Be Heavily Impacted By Ireland's New Climate Targets

New figures from the EPA show the scale of the challenge facing the farming community.

Ireland's new climate targets could see 90% of reclaimed bog put back under water.... 86,000 acres of forestry planted every year.... and the country's livestock numbers reduced by 30%.

New figures from the Environmental Protection Agency - reported in today's Irish Mail - show the scale of the challenge facing the country's farming community.

Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice for Roscommon/Galway says the proposals would leave the West of Ireland with 'nothing but wind turbines and theme parks'.
