Shay Callaghan is releasing his new book.
A former Westmeath County Council Chair and businessman turned author is to launch his latest history book tomorrow.
Shay Callaghan's new book is about the history of the county's schools called "Tales of Westmeath: History and folklore from the Schools Collection."
It provides a historical background and context to school stories combined with personal anecdotes from Mr Callaghan.
He's says his aim is to highlight the writings of children from the 1930's and bring those voices back to life, ensuring that the voices of the past are not forgotten.
The launch takes place tomorrow in The Park Hotel in Mullingar at 8, with former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to attend and local historian Seamus O'Brien as MC.
