Lough Boora Discovery Park is being described as being in poor condition at the moment.
Bord Na Móna is being accused of failing to maintain amenities at an Offaly parkland.
Fianna Fáil Local Election Candidate for Birr, Barbara Daly, says the current state of Lough Boora Park is a 'stain' on the body's history.
She claims local residents have been raising concerns with the condition of the park's facilities.
Ms. Daly is calling for a sustainable plan to be put in place:
In a statement to Midlands 103, Bord na Móna says it's making a significant change at Lough Boora:
"We've made the decision to remove the car parking charge and are delighted to welcome Ballycommon Bake House to Lough Boora Discovery Park and welcome back Mid-Ireland Adventure.
We also would like to wish to advise visitors that the car park will be open from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm daily.
Bord na Móna looks forward to welcoming members of the public to our amenities at our sites, including Lough Boora, in the near future."
