Shannonbridge Power Plant closed down in 2020.
An Offaly TD is calling on the Minister for Housing to confirm if State support will continue beyond next year for the closure of power plant in the county.
Since 2021, Offaly County Council has received an annual €1.7 million grant from the Department to compensate for lost commercial rates after the closure of the Shannonbridge Power Station.
Independent rep Carol Nolan believes the subvention amount represents about 18.5% of the council's base rates income at the time.
