Calls For Emergency Suspension Of Tree Felling Licencing System Amid Timber Shortage

The CIF says it's leading a rise in building costs and impacting on the delivery of houses.

The Construction Industry Federation is calling for the suspension of the licences operation for planting and felling trees. 

The organisation says the short supply of timber in Ireland is leading to a rise building costs and will impact the delivery of houses.

Director General, Coolderry's Tom Parlon says it's a very easy issue to resolve and he wants Junior Agriculture Minister Pippa Hackett to take emergency action:
