Labour councillor Noel Tuohy is renewing calls for the courthouse to be moved.
There are calls for a museum and heritage centre to be created in Laois.
The current courthouse building on Main Street in Portlaoise is mooted as a possible location by Labour councillor Noel Tuohy.
Local reps have continually asked for the courts to be moved to improve the town's image to visitors.
