Calls For Teachers To Be Given Full Time Jobs Before Cut-Off

A deficit of teachers means some students can't study their chosen subjects.

The Department of Education is being called on to immediately announce it'll give teachers full-time jobs before the October cut-off.

The Teachers' Union of Ireland also wants to make sure teachers living in other countries who want to return home don't face delays in registration for jobs.

At the moment, the lack of teachers at second-level means some students can't study their chosen subjects.

General Secretary with TUI, and Tullamore's Michael Gillespie, says the situation won't get any better unless something is done soon:
