Calls To Scrap Toll Booths In Favour Of M50-Like Automatic System

Hauliers want to see toll booths scrapped, in favour of automatic systems like the M50.

President of the Irish Road Haulage Association and Rosenallis' Ger Hyland says his drivers can expend up to two litres of fuel every time they're forced to stop at a booth.

The system on the M50 has been in place for more than a decade, but is the only motorway to avail of the function.
