A new class to cater for six students was announced yesterday.
The campaign for more school places for autistic children in Athlone is set to continue.
A new additional needs class is being opened in Athlone Community College for six students, which means five children are still left with no secondary school place for September.
One of the group's members, Hilda Duignan, says they'll be gathering in the town on Saturday to raise awareness about the issue:
