Fianna Fáil councillor Catherine Fitzgerald has been elected unopposed as the new Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council.
She previously held the role in 2020 and pledges to lead with fairness, respect and dedication while prioritising housing, infrastructure and community development across the county.
Councillor Fitzgerald is succeeding Fine Gael's Barry Walsh in the role.
