Chair Of Offaly County Council Disputes Call For Livestreamed Meetings

John Leahy says a motion on the matter has already been passed.

An Offaly County Councillor is accusing Sinn Fein of peddling misinformation.

The party's Tullamore rep, Aoife Masterson is calling for the monthly meetings of the local authority to be streamed publically.

However, County Cathaoirleach John Leahy says a motion to deliver the service was already passed six months ago.

A cost analysis is being carried out but he believes it may require €35,000 to €40,000 a year.

The Independent councillor says Ms Masterson will be called out at the next meeting for misrepresenting her colleagues:
