An Offaly TD is welcoming changes to a government scheme for farmers on lower incomes.
The Rural Social Scheme is expanding to couples who own a single herd harm and will run a pilot for over 200 farmers over 50 on social welfare to join the RSS.
It follows a review of the programme last summer with the new rules taking effect next January.
