Luzhou is twinned with Tullamore.

A Chinese city twinned with Tullamore is answering a call for personal protective equipment.

The town of Luzhou in the Sichuan province is donating 30,000 face-masks to the Regional Hospital Tullamore.

They will be brought to Ireland via airplane, although no exact timeline for delivery to the hospital is yet known.

Fianna Fail councillor Tony McCormack is behind the idea, he says it's an unexpected bonus for the pairing:
