Lights are being switched on in various places in the Lake county this weekend.

Fesitivites begin in Mullingar this evening where the lights go on at 5 o clock.
On Sunday, Portlaoise will turn on their lights at 4:30.
Meanwhile an event will take place in the civic square in Athlone from 4-6pm on Sunday.
New lights to the value of €150,000 will be used for the first time.
