Claire Byrne has ruled herself out of contention for the Late Late Show.

The Mountrath woman had been favourited to replace Ryan Tubridy in the hot seat, as he's due to leave to show at the end of this month.

She's citing her family and her current radio show as the reasons behind the decision.

She says the show is an' iconic one' which requires huge commitment from the presenter.

Ms. Byrne says it's an honour to have her name linked to such a prestigious role.
