The Laois town has been celebrating its victory at the Tidy Towns awards.
The Chief Executive of Laois County Council says the local authority will be working "cohesively" with the Tidy Towns groups in a bid to keep the title in the county.
Abbeyleix was crowned Ireland's Tidiest Town for 2023 last week, after beating competition from nearly 900 other entrants for the award.
Geashill in Offaly was also named Tidiest Village for the year.
