Common Crane Birds Return To Former Offaly BNM Site

It's the seventh year running they've made their nest at the site, according to Bord Na Mona.

A pair of rare Common Crane birds are making their nest at a former Bord Na Mona bog in Offaly for the seventh year in a row.

The pair are currently incubating eggs, after rearing five chicks in the last three years at the site.

BNM are keeping its exact location a secret, as the Common Crane breed has only began to breed again in the last couple of years.

Ecologist at Bord Na Mona Chris Cullen says the population is increasing overall across Europe:
