Council Meetings In Westmeath Will Be Held Online

It comes after a legal concerns surrounding decisions taken at non-physical meetings.

Westmeath County Council meetings will now be held online, after some legal concerns were raised.

Questions were raised over the validity of some decisions made, if elected members had not physically gathered - and local authorities are not allowed to discuss statutory or policy issues through online means.

It was unclear if Westmeath would be hosting any meetings due to these concerns - but the Executive has now agreed to meeting remotely.
