Dáil Hears Calls Again For Bypass Of Laois Town

Brexit is being cited as a reason for increased HGV traffic.

The Minister for Transport has been called on to make provision for the bypass of a midlands town. 

Sinn Féin's Brian Stanley says despite heavy traffic congestion and pollution in Mountmellick, plans to circumvent the town are not included in the National Roads Programme or National Development plan. 

He says Brexit has increased the number of lorries travelling through the area to access the port in Rosslare.
