Westmeath Woman's Death Highlights Need For Road Safety Measures

Longford County Council are considering installing a crash barrier at the site of her fatal collision.

The death of a Westmeath woman has highlighted the need for road safety measures on a Longford road. 

Rose Gibney from Castlepollard died in a single vehicle collision at Lisryan Castlenugent in June. 

Leas Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council, Turlough McGovern says the location has been a black spot for years. 

He says the local authority are considering putting in a crass barrier:
