A protest was held in the midlands last week against flooding along the river.
Delays to publishing legislation to establish a single body to manage the River Shannon are "simply ridiculous."
That's according to Laois Offaly Independent TD Carol Nolan, as this year marks the third in a row the Shannon Management Body Bill is in the List of Priority Legislation.
Farmers took to the streets in Banagher last week in a protest against flooding along the river, which has resulted in significant losses to bales of hay and silage.
Deputy Nolan says a draft version of the bill is still in the preparation stage:
