Denis Naughten Is Calling For Justice For Pandemic Frontline Workers With Long-Covid

The Roscommon Galway TD wants the disease to be acknowledged as an occupational illness.

The government must act to serve justice for frontline workers who have been impacted by Long-Covid.

That's the call from Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten.

A unanimous vote was passed in the Dáil last year to extend special supports to front-line workers suffering from Long-Covid, but that doesn't include those who contracted the illness after November 15th, 2021.

The Department of Health and the HSE have agreed to extend special payments for 143 healthcare staff for over 28 months.
