Department Concerned About Ongong Delays At New Westmeath School

It's striving to have the project finished by the end of this year.

The Department of Education says it's concerned about the slow down in progress of a new Westmeath primary school.

Curraghmore National School in Mullingar was expected to be complete by September 2018 and has since missed nine further project completion dates.

In October, the Department, the local authority and the contractor agreed that all parties would strive to finish the project by the end of this year.

Parents Association Secretary Cathy Savage says she can't see how the development will be finalised for a 2020 opening:
