50 Teaching Roles Vacant In The Midlands

There are almost 1,100 teaching positions across the country.

The Department of Education's under fire for 'not grappling' with a shortage of teachers.

There are currently 643 primary school jobs advertised on the Education posts website, with 456 jobs on offer at secondary schools across the country. 

There are 50 positions available in the midlands - 29 for primary school teachers and 21 in secondary schools.

Labour's Aodhán Ó Riordáin says many children won't now be educated by trained teachers when the new term starts in just a few weeks time. 

He says educators can't find housing, especially in the capital:
