It follows reports of Jennifer's Law being dropped by the Government.
A domestic abuse register should function in the same way the sex offenders register currently does, according to the Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service.
It comes as reports have suggested the idea, named Jennifer's Law after murder victim Jennifer Poole, had been dropped by the Government.
However, Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan says he is in favour of creating a register for domestic violence offenders, controlled by the Gardaí.
