The motorist has been arrested on a host of offences.
A drink-driver, who was nine time over the legal limit, has been arrested in Laois after narrowly avoiding a collision.
Gardaí on patrol in Portlaoise yesterday stopped the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt and was using a mobile phone, after they drove into the wrong lane towards oncoming traffic.
They then discovered the motorist was intoxicated, gave false details about being a learner driver, and didn't have insurance.
The driver has been charged with multiple offences and fined for others, and their vehicle was seized.
