Offaly Roads Policing Unit has seized an illegal high-powered electric scooter following an incident in the county.
The scooter was equipped with a 2000-watt motor, making it unlawful for use on public roads.
The rider was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and was found to be over eight times the legal alcohol limit.
The person has been charged and is due to appear before Tullamore District Court, while the scooter has been seized for technical examination.
