The novel idea is being used to keep the Halloween tradition going, despite covid-19.

A drive-through trick or treat event is being organised for next month in Westmeath.

The Halloween Drive Thru Trick or Treat Experience will be held in Mullingar on October 30th and 31st.

Families will stay in their cars for the duration of the event as ghosts, ghouls and witches offer tricks and treats through a two metre tube.

Organiser Philip McKeown says it will be a fun way for children to trick or treat safely:
