The Agriculture Minister has authorised small livestock farms to commence land mowing from today.
New measures to help farmers hit worst by drought conditions need to go a little further.
That's according to Chair of the IFA in Laois, Henry Burns, after Agriculture Minister Martin Heydon announced an increase in the rate of advanced payments from 70 to 75%
He's also allowed land mowing for small livestock farms to take place from today.
