The OPW and Revenue Commissioners are co-funding the project.
The Athlone Government Offices is set to get a €2.3 million refurbishment which will be co-funded by the Office of Public Works and Revenue Commissioners.
The work involves extensive internal fit-out works on all floors in the building including replacement of the existing windows and doors.
The project will also include re-configuration of existing office space to accommodate new staff.
Kilcawley Construction was award the 24 week contract, it's envisaged that works will begin in October
