The Teen Zone at Athlone RSC Fitness Park in Westmeath is one of the projects.
€200,000 in funding for new recreational spaces for teenagers is set for the midlands.
The four projects, located in Longford, Westmeath, Waterford and Mayo, aim to create safe and welcoming spaces where young people can meet friends, enjoy the outdoors, and take part in informal play and recreation.
Sheltered spaces for year round use, comfortable seating, suitable lighting and accessible design features are just some of the features promised.
All projects will receive€100,000, including the Teen Zone at Athlone RSC Fitness Park in Westmeath and ESPACE, an inclusive and accessible outdoor space at the front of the Green in Edgeworthstown in Longford.
