Communities will benefit across Offaly, Meath and Westmeath.
Almost €215,000 is being awarded to 20 community projects across Offaly, Meath and Westmeath through a new Yellow River Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund.
Almost €100,000 from the Major Projects Fund has been allocated to three transformational projects across the region, with a further €115,000 supporting smaller grassroots initiatives.
The Community Benefit Fund aims to create lasting social, environmental and economic benefits for communities located closest to the Yellow River Wind Farm.
Funding is available to not for profit organisations operating within a 10km radius of the wind farm, with priority given to projects and groups located within 5km.
Ciaran Maguire, Onshore Wind General Manager for Ireland at SSE Renewables says supporting local communities is "an important part of how we do business".
