€290k Set To Go To Midlands In Local Biodiversity Action Fund

The local authorities in Offaly, Laois and Westmeath are all set to get funding for projects.

Midlands counties are set to benefit from the 2026 Local Biodiversity Action Fund.

An investment of €3 million will fund conservation initiatives, invasive species control, and habitat management across all 31 local authorities.

Over €290,000  is to be made available for the midlands, with Offaly to receive the highest figure, with just over €100,000 being funded for their seven projects. 

Over €96,000 will be allocated for 11 projects in Westmeath, and just under €95,000 heading for Laois' seven projects.
