The works will begin this week in two areas of Laois.
Funding of €400,000 is being dedicated for road safety works in Laois.
The project will see 42 public lights, a traffic island, safety barriers and road markings installed at the junctions of Redcastle in Mountrath and Derrin Cross in Borris-in-Ossory.
