The Energy Minister confirmed the scheme will be available soon.
Five hundred million euro is being made available for homeowners to make upgrades to their homes to make them more energy efficient and economical to run.
The announcement was made by Longford Westmeath Fine Gael Minster Peter Burke, who welcomed confirmation from Green Party Leader Eamon Ryan the new Low Cost Home Energy Loan Scheme will be available soon from participating retail banks.
There will also be support for sustainable business initiatives who bring their new retrofitting technologies to every corner of the country.
This scheme will complement the current SEAI Grant scheme which is already available for those on low incomes.
