€600,000 Enhancement Works Get Underway In Offaly Town

A local councillor says they want polish "the jewel in the crown" of Offaly tourism.

Work is beginning on a 600,000 euro renovation project in Offaly. 

It'll be carried out in the Green Street area of Birr, with the aim of developing an attractive tourist hub in the town.

Wide footpaths and new granite paving, trees and lighting will lead from Birr Castle to the town square.

Local independent councillor John Carroll says the goal is to showcase the town in the most positive light:
