There was more than an eight-fold increase in primary school children going on holidays during term-time in the 2021-2022 academic year.
350,000 school days were lost in primary schools, for pupils being away on holiday.
The latest report from Tusla on school absences shows it increased from 38,604 since the previous academic year.
