Total car sales are also up this year, at 9%.
New car registrations are up 9% in the midlands in the year to October.
New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show there have been over 4,200 registrations so far this year, compared to 3,900 this time last year.
Electric vehicle sales are also continuing to soar in the region, and have increased by 36% in the year to October.
Nationally, new car registrations are up 15% when compared to the same period last year.
