The incident took place shortly before 8pm on Saturday night.
A woman and a young boy have been killed in a house fire in Offaly.
The blaze broke out at a house in Castleview Park in Edenderry last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 8 o'clock.
Although the fire was brought under control a woman in her 60's and a young boy died.
Another woman aged in her 50's was seriously injured and is being treated at a hospital in the midlands.
Gardaí in Tullamore are appealing for any witnesses to come forward
