Homeowners in Mountmellick had to evacuate yesterday evening.
People had to evacuate their homes as a meadow fire took hold in Laois yesterday.
Emergency services tackled the blaze at Smith's Field in Mountmellick at around 5.40pm.
A number of nearby homes were evacuated but there has been no reported damage to any houses or injuries reported.
Gardaí are not treating the incident as suspicious.
