The incident took place on William Street in Tullamore this evening.
Emergency services and the ESB are currently at the scene of an electrical fire in Offaly.
The fire is believed to have broken out from a transformer on William Street in Tullamore at around 6.20pm this evening.
One lane remains open in the town as firefighters from Offaly Fire and Rescue along with ESB officials manage the situation which expected to be resolved before nightfall.
No injuries are being reported.
