Enoch Burke won't face criminal prosecution for trespassing at the school where he used to work.

The teacher was arrested for alleged trespassing in January, days after being let go by Wilson's Hospital School in Co. Westmeath.

He was dismissed after a long-running dispute over his conduct, which stemmed from his refusal to address a transgender student by their preferred pronouns.

The Irish Independent has seen a statement from Gardai confirming it's report to the DPP recommended there be no prosecution in the case.
