The Longford Westmeath TD Peter Burke is cautioning against big Budget 2027 expectations.

The Government is "very limited" in what it can do to reduce the VAT on home heating oil, according to the Enterprise Minister.

The Taoiseach had indicted earlier this week the rising costs of the oil would be addressed in next month's budget.

It comes after CSO figures showed prices were up 44% in the last year.
