Environment Minister Doesn't Expect Power Shortages This Winter

There have been warnings about potential blackouts, after the shut down of Irish power stations.

The Environment Minister has said he doesn't believe power shortages will be likely this winter.

There have been warnings about potential blackouts with two power stations in Cork and Dublin currently offline. 

The parts to fix those stations are expected to arrive in time for winter. 

Minister Eamon Ryan believes, bar unforeseen events, the grid will cope with demand:
