The Midlands MEP feels the latest EPA report is being viewed too negatively.

Ireland being behind its national and EU target of restoring all waters to a good status by 2027 is the biggest concern from the EPA's latest report.

That's the view of Midlands MEP Barry Cowen who feels the latest Water Quality in Ireland report is being viewed too negatively.

That's despite the report stating the highest amount of nitrate concentrations in water bodies is in the Midlands.

He says progress has been made:
